Sidekick:

How to Use the Chatbot

As a HIPAA-compliant chatbot designed specifically for rehabilitation settings, PredictionHealth Sidekick’s Chatbot feature offers a wide range of applications. This guide will walk you through the different ways you can leverage the Chatbot to enhance your experience and maximize its capabilities.

A Rehab-Specific Search Engine

The Sidekick Chatbot feature acts as a valuable resource for your providers, enabling them to access answers directly within your EMR. Unlike traditional search engines or chatbots, this feature delivers more focused, rehabilitation-specific information tailored to their needs.

Example #1: What is the difference between CPT codes 97110 and 97530?

Example #2: Can you describe the Epley maneuver?

*The chatbot is meant to assist providers but has safeguards to prevent it from giving medical or treatment advice. If asked for specific directions, like for the Epley maneuver, it may respond with general information due to these safeguards.

A Writing Assistant

Sidekick's Chatbot has the ability to interact with the note information. Whether Chatbot can access information that’s been manually typed into the note or is only able to access what’s been generated by Sidekick will depend on the EMR. Within WebPT SOAP1 and Prompt, Chatbot has the ability to read both information you’ve manually entered into the note and Sidekick’s generated audio suggestions. Within WebPT SOAP2, InsightGO, and Raintree Web, Chatbot can only reference the audio suggestions generated by Sidekick, or information given to the Chatbot.

Examples of how to prompt Chatbot as a Writing Assistant:

For EMRs where the Chatbot can read off of the screen prompts like this can be powerful:

  • “Take the bullet points from my subjective history and write in paragraph form.”

  • “Summarize this note and include objective information.”

For EMRs where Chatbot can only access the recorded audio:

  • “Write a letter of medical necessity for this patient in paragraph form.”

  • “Write a 2 paragraph summary of this patient case.”

Chatbot can also be used to write a letter or summary in a different language. You can find a list of verified languages Sidekick is able to translate here

Tips on How to Receive the Most Helpful Answers from Chatbot

We recommend interacting with the chatbot in the way that you’d have a conversation with someone. Writing a good prompt is all about giving the chatbot actionable, specific context. To get an ideal response for a follow-up prompt we suggest copying the meaningful part of the chatbot’s response back into the query to help it provide the most specific response possible.

Example that will result in a very specific response:

  • List 5 special tests for low back pain. Include descriptions of how to perform each test and list them in table format.

Example of multiple interactions to improve response (starting with a weak prompt):

  1. Example of a Non-Specific Attempt that likely will not generate as helpful of an answer:

    • What are tests for low back pain?

  1. Increasing specificity in response to the above output:

    • Outline 3 special tests for low back pain from this list: [paste in list of low back pain tests that were generated from the previous response]

  1. Further increasing specificity:

    • For the above list (example #2), write in table format with a description of each.
